Palanga_Palac_TyszkiewiczowPalanga is another Lithuanian sea resort situated 25 km away from Klaipeda. It’s the most popular summer holiday destination among Lithuanians and a high number of guests from Russia, Latvia, Belarus and Germany. Palanga has international airport (PLQ) with regular flights to Riga, Oslo, Copenhagen, London, Warsaw, Moscow, Minsk and Kiev.

Holidaymakers can find a wide range for entertainment – night clubs, restaurants, cafes, bars, a casino, a cinema and a summer concert hall. Meanwhile filmmakers can be fascinated by Palanga Amber Museum palace and the Botanical Park. It was established on August 3, 1963 in the former mansion of count Feliksas Tiškevičius (1870–1932) that was designed by the German architect Franz Schwechten. The botanical garden was designed by famous French scenery architect Édouard François André. Today park is opened to all visitors and has beautiful and cinematic sceneries with lakes, swans, paths and valleys.

Palanga is also famous for its sea bridge, which is the most popular promenade spot since 1892. Sea shore, pine tree forests, cozy parks and alleys can be good choice for some nature exterior shots.

Another famous location is a hotel “Vila Auska” – the former summer residence of USSR leader Leonid Breznev. The hotel has well preserved rooms with “Soviet era luxury”: marble fireplaces, ancient tapestry, furniture and chandeliers.
